Melonex Safety & Interactions
The listed amino acids can lower blood pressure and add to several medicines.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use, and read your label.
Blood pressure medicine and diuretics
Arginine and citrulline can lower blood pressure. Taken with blood pressure medicine or diuretics, the effect could add up and cause dizziness or fainting. Ask your care team before use and never change a prescription yourself.
Nitrates and sildenafil-type drugs
Nitrates and erectile dysfunction medicines also widen blood vessels, so adding an arginine product can push blood pressure too low. Ask a doctor or pharmacist first.
Heart attack history, kidneys and asthma
People who have had a heart attack, or who have kidney disease, asthma or already low blood pressure, should ask before use. Arginine can also raise potassium, which matters with potassium-sparing diuretics and some blood pressure medicines.
Surgery, pregnancy and youth
Tell your care team about surgery planned within two weeks. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and anyone under 18 should not use it without medical advice, and no safety data for the finished capsule was found.
